I got the call from Rich at 3 today. "babe, we need to go now."

right now rich, me and his family are sitting in his mother's room at the hospice center. She is unresponsive and running a fever. According to what they tell us, the time is getting closer. So we are staying the night and pumping ourselves full of coffee to stay awake. update later

Merry Christmas my lovlies (and Happy Hannukah as well!)

I hope you all have a lovely day and survive all the family hubbub.

Last night we saw Rich's family and today we are going to my Aunt Colleen's for food. WE are supposed to leave in 12 minutes.. ahahah.. but I am not showered yet. Rich is currently hogging the shower.
Christmas morning was fun. Holly is thoroughly spoiled with her own bed and lots of toys. Right now she's having a blast gnawing on a rawhide candy cane. I'm wearing my awesome necklace that Rich bought me. It's beautiful! He also got me a cool wand thingy from ThinkGeek. hehe i have to laugh we both got each other stuff from ThinkGeek.

Well it's my turn in the shower! Zoooom!

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

Oooh...oooh...
Oooh...oooh...

My gift of self is raped
My privacy is raked
And yet I find
And yet I find
Repeating in my head
If I cant be my own
Id feel better dead

I'm done. Keeping this short because my arm is tired.
All went well. I woke up as they were doing the stitches but my arm was numbs so that's ok. Somehow we talked about tequila and whiskey. ha. They were able to remove 5 pieces of glass and he said he did the best they could with my scars.
I was in the recovery room for about an hour. They gave me morphine.. whee. Does nothing for the pain but it makes me loopy enough to not care. They let me go. got meds, got tasty foods and then came back to rich's and we both took a 5.5 hour nap. fantastic. Whoa vicoden just kicked in...
I still wish i could have seen the whole procedure but ah well. I'm a medical dork like that.

So the reveal will be in 10 days. Till then my arm is in a bandage. It's a little hard to get dressed and do my hair but Rich is helping out. I am a very lucky girl.

I'm going to go rest on the couch and read Batman: The Long Halloween. So good. It's better than Batman:Hush and I loved Hush. I think I might be becoming a comic book nerd again. Yay!

about 2 years ago my cousin named her daughter after my mom. I can't even look at a picture of this beautiful child without hurting. It's been almost 13 years since she was taken away (on sept. 18th) from me.. when I was 13 years old. half my life. It's honestly destroying me because she can't see how happy I am, the man I hope to marry and the children i hope to have. So pardon me if I'm a little off for the next month.. I'm sorry..

Weeee! Rich did awesome at the comedy show tonight. Tonight was part of the 1st Annual Staten Island Comedy Festival. A comedian friend of ours, Soul Joel, orchestrated the whole thing. And did a damn fine job. Thursday night we get to walk the red carpet! Holy shit, I am not kidding. This whole deal is being taped by Time Warner and also another independent film company for a documentary. Awesome. I broke out my finest dress hehe. I am also really excited to see Otto and George. This is going to be crazy!

Wow...

wow...

I just watched Manos Hands of Fate.. it is truly the worst movie to ever exist. If it wasn't for Joel, Crooow and Tom Servo.. I don't think we could have made it through. Rich is very glad to have scarred me for life with this movie..
It's amazingly horrible.. you must watch it...

Now for a movie that is cheese-tastic and wonderful and I must own on DVD... I recommend "Hell Comes To Frogtown" I mean.. come on! It's Roddy Piper!
Here's the synopsis:
"In the radioactive wasteland of the future, Sam Hell is one of the last fertile men on the planet. A female organization intent on repopulating kidnaps Sam and sends him on a deadly mission to rescue -- and impregnate -- a group of beautiful women held captive by the violent bipedal amphibian leader of Frogtown. Will Sam and his "loaded weapon" survive the mission?"
it's great.. watch it.

One American’s Battle to Save World War II History in the South Pacific
SOLOMON ISLANDS — December 10, 2007 — A young American, Justin Taylan, 30, of Hyde Park, New York, has been held captive five weeks since November 6, 2007 in the Solomon Islands, a tiny Pacific island nation off the east coast of Australia. Taylan is founder of a non-profit history website detailing World War II stories and Pacific theater airplane wrecks. Traveling by boat from Papua New Guinea, he hoped to explore relics from the Battle of Guadalcanal.
Also held in custody by Solomon authorities are Taylan’s colleagues Yoji Sakaida, 41, of Chiba, Japan, World War II enthusiast and graphic designer, Rodney Pearce, 57, citizen of Australia and the ship’s captain, and Daisy Eliah, 25, citizen of Papua New Guinea, the ship’s cook.
On November 6, Taylan inadvertently stumbled upon a salvage operation underway at Ballale Island, part of the famous Battle of Guadalcanal. “There are more World War II plane wrecks there than anywhere else in the world,” Taylan said. “We saw six Zero fighters, a Val dive bomber and a Betty bomber being illegally removed. That’s why all this started.”
The group drew the attention of the salvagers. The Royal Solomon Island Police Force confiscated their passports, photos, and videotapes placing them in detention without charges. They have since been charged with illegally entering the country and pleaded innocent since they crossed borders through a published port of entry and in accordance with Solomon Islands law. Trial is set for December 12 and the maximum sentence is three years in jail.
Taylan testified in September 2006 before Papua New Guinea Parliament National Parliament in the “Inquiry into the National Museum and Art Gallery and the Sale and Export of the Swamp Ghost Aircraft.” He received an official commendation from the governing body that his “evidence as to the extent of the removal of these aircraft over the last decade and the complicity of the Museum to be of great assistance.”
The grandson of World War II combat photographer Carl Thien, Taylan gained an appreciation for Pacific War air battles early on. As a teenager, he accompanied his grandfather on a return trip to Papua New Guinea to photograph wrecks in their original locations.
More information, photos, and updates are available at http://taylandefensefund.org. Interviews with Taylan may be arranged through the press contact listed above.

PACIFICWRECKS.COM
Taylan searches out wrecks, safeguards human remains, and returns dog tags and other artifacts to surprised veterans. He is founder of PacificWrecks.com, a free, non-profit history website detailing World War II stories and Pacific theater airplane wrecks. that draws 45,000 hits a month. He produces and distributes his own historical documentaries and has appeared on The History Channel and PBS.
Taylan was featured in the October 2007 issue of Smithsonian Magazine in an article titled “Swamp Ghosts: In Papua New Guinea, a journalist investigates the controversy over a World War II bomber.”
He wrote his first book about the war, “No Place for a Picnic,” at age 16 and has since been published in many historical and flight publications and spoken on this topic around the world.
See attached photo of Justin Taylan anchored aboard the “Barbarian” and rapidly running out of rations.
